Tim Pappas suffers fractures in Friday's crash at Mount Panorama

IMSA Team Owner and Driver Tim Pappas suffered from pelvis and arm fractures after crashing heavily at The Chase section before being transported to hospital.

A spectator close to the car was spotted with a fire extinguisher trying to put out the fire before the marshalls arrived at the spot to evacuate the driver.


#540 Black Swan crashed at The Chase section on Friday

The incident made the Black Swan Racing Team to retire the #540 Porsche 911 GT3 R due to heavy damage. It's the second consecutive week for the team to retire, after retiring last weekend at Daytona due to similar situation.




The American driver was airlifted to Sydney hospital where the doctors confirmed his consciousness and reported of the fractures.
