
Team LNT #5 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 went quickest in first practice session in Bahrain, setting a time of 1:44.791 by Ben Hanley early in session.
The car was then forced to pit and spend the session in garage, only completing 11 laps in 90-minute session.
This meant Hanley's lap was 2.1s quicker than rest of the field. Behind the #5 Ginetta was #1 Rebellion R13 Gibson, with a 1:46.976s by Norman Nato.
Following the privateers in fourth and fifth place were the Toyota duo, with #8 the best of Hybrid cars, 2.6s off the leader.
The sister Team LNT Ginetta finished fifth overall, after the car completed only 15 laps running without any issues.
#22 United Autosports went to the top of time sheets in LMP2, with a 1:48.273s ahead of #42 Cool Racing ORECA 07 Gibson. Following them were Racing Team Netherland ORECA ahead of Signatech Alpine in fourth.
Further down the LMP2 pack, G-Drive Aurus 01 ended in 8th place in it's first FIA WEC session in 2019-20 season. The car will be shared over the weekend by Jean-Eric Vergne, Roman Rusinov and Job van Uitert.
Porsche made it a 1-2 in GTE-Pro class, with #91 Porsche 911 RSR of Gianmaria Bruni finishing ahead of Richard Lietz in #92 Porsche and AF Corse Ferraris. Both GTE-Pro Aston Martin Vantage GTEs finished slower than the top two in Am class.
Astons was quickest in GTE-Am however, with Jonny Adam setting a 1:58.803s to go quickest despite running the heaviest car in class. Behind him were #88 Dempsey-Proton Racing and #57 Team Project 1 Porsche 911 RSRs.
All 4 classes set the times early in the session, with no major incidents. A short Full Course Yellow was deployed to clear debris at Turn 8, with no stoppages following.
Free Practice 2 will kick off at 6:30 pm local time.
