R-Motorsport launches DTM programme with Aston Martin

Unveiling of the Aston Martin concept car for 2019 DTM season

R-Motorsports DT team launched their programme at AF Racing's headquarters yesterday, unveiling a concept car for 2019 season.

The team will field 4 Aston Martins, driven by Daniel Juncadella, Ferdinand Habsburg, Paul di Resta and Jake Dennis.

The team will make it's track debut in March although the car is not ready yet as it's seems, as the programme was announced in last October just after Mercedes exited.

The team is running out of time to prepare but Team Manager Florian Kamelger is positive about it:

“The extremely short timeframe for development has put huge demands on the project team led by Vynamic in the joint venture between AF Racing and HWA.

“But we pulled out all the stops so that the new Aston Martin Vantage DTM car can make its racetrack debut in the first week of March. And so, it gives us great pleasure today to present this model to you which we hope you will also find impressive, showing the new racing car’s skillfully crafted shape.”

Former Formula 1 driver and commentator David Coulthard was also present at the launch and is sure about the team being strong:

“R-Motorsport’s DTM project is a very professional setup and the Aston Martin Vantage DTM cars will be a tremendous addition to the series. I see no reason why the outfit shouldn’t be competitive from the word go,” said Coulthard.
