Peugeot announces Hypercar programme for 2022

Peugeot last raced at Le Mans in 2011, before leaving in 2012 amid low sales for the brand. The French manufacturer took sole victory in 2009 at Le Mans with Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.

Peugeot has officially announced it's entry in the FIA World Endurance Championship's flagship Hypercar class from 2022.


No details have been made yet, but a hybrid system is known to be planned for 2022 assault.

"The experts of our organization, enriched by their experiences in the FIA championships, will continue to give the best of themselves to win the teams financed by the brands of our Group."

The evolution of the WEC today corresponds to the transition we are experiencing with the electrification of our range and the launch of high performance electrified products, prefigured by the Peugeot Sport Engineered Concept 508 and developed by PSA Motorsport. More than ever, the signature of the Peugeot brand -Motion and E-motion- resonates with these initiatives."


The details of the programme will be made public in early 2020.
