McLaren finally revealed it's 2019 livery for Indianapolis 500, sporting similar livery to that of the one used by the team in 2017.
Fernando Alonso will compete in this year's 103rd Indianapolis 500 for McLaren, after competing in the race in 2017, before retiring from the race with engine problems on lap 179.
He then went on to win the second race of the Triple Crown by dominating 24 Hours of Le Mans, and also announced his return to Indy 500 for 2019 to have another shot at the Triple Crown of Motorsports.
As revealed last weekend, the Spaniard will use the #66 on his car for the race, as a tribute to McLaren's first Indy 500 win with Mark Donohue aboard the Penske.
The car has been built at McLaren Technology Centre for "McLaren Racing Team" and is supported by the Carlin Racing for Indianapolis 500.
The Spaniard will test the car on April 24 at Indianapolis as part of the open test, however, McLaren will send a test car with the new universal aerokit equipped to Texas Motor Speedway for Alonso to test the new car for first time tomorrow.
“The reveal of the #66 car and livery is an important moment for McLaren Racing’s journey to the Indianapolis 500. It represents the beginning of the next phase of our programme, and reflects a tremendous amount of hard work by our specialist Indy 500 team at the McLaren Technology Centre," said McLaren CEO Zak Brown.
“I’m excited we are finally able to reveal to the world the #66 car which I’ll be racing with McLaren at the Indy 500 in May," said Fernando Alonso.
"The team at the McLaren factory has worked very hard to build this car ready for our return to the iconic Brickyard and I think it looks fantastic in the 2019 McLaren Racing colours.
"My hopes for the race remain the same, to win and achieve the Triple Crown, and I’m looking forward to meeting the fantastic US fans who made me feel so welcome first time around."
