R-Motorsports announced that their DTM line-up is complete after they signed Dani Juncadella and Ferdinand Habsburg.
Juncadella was a part of Mercedes line-up, and scored a victory in Brands Hatch. He managed to finish 15th in points.
By signing for R-Motorsports, the Spaniard maintain links with HWA and is a reserve driver for HWA in Formula E.
Speaking to media, Juncadella said, "Last year it seemed like there was going to be a change in my sporting life, since it was the last year of Mercedes [in the DTM] and the idea was to continue being linked to them,"
"It was a good year for me in the DTM in many aspects, although the final result in the championship did not show it.”
I wanted to continue here, especially with the change in regulations.
Juncadella was one of the five drivers to take part in Nissan Super GT shootout, but rejected an offer to join the Japanese manufacturer.
"The truth is that it was a difficult decision, because it did not depend on myself 100%," the Spaniard added.
"[R-Motorsport] was my first choice because I know the engineers, mechanics and the people who work in HWA.
"It is true that I had other options, but I had to decide without knowing the answer of Aston Martin. It has been a difficult winter in that sense, because I had to set aside other things that perhaps were also attractive."
A career change for Habsburg who spent 5-years of his life in single seater. The European F3 race winner had some big moments in his racing career. In 2017 when he won in Spa with Carlin and almost won the Macau GP later that year too.

But Habsburg has made ways in GT racing, he raced at last year’s 24 Hours of Daytona, and also participated in an International GT Open with Mercedes-AMG GT3.
Habsburg appeared to move into R-Motorsports’ frame as early as December. He was set to join Audi for annual DTM Young Driver test but a last-minute switch to HWA Mercedes line-up for the running.
Archduke Ferdinand Habsburg will not the first member of European Royalty to drive in DTM.
The Bavarian Prince Leopold von Bayern was a BMW driver in the series as early as 1980s, his race was in 1984 in Avus when he finished 2nd in 635 CSi.
