Former Lotus and McLaren Team Principal Eric Boullier has joined French Grand Prix organisation as a promoter for the new race.
The former McLaren boss resigned from his position last year after the team had a very disappointing result in the season to the point and was replaced by former Indy 500 winner and team owner Gil de Ferran.
The official statement from the organisation states the employment of Boullier as a strategic advisor and global ambassador for the future French Grands Prix.
Christian Ertosi, president French Grand Prix was delighted by the Frenchman coming aboard :
"During his 20 years in the sport, he has been a driving force in the development of every team he has worked with."
"Eric has advanced technical and sporting knowledge, a unique experience, and I have already benefited greatly from his advice and expertise during our working group for the return of the French Grand Prix.".
French Grand Prix finally made a return to Formula 1 in 2018, with the venue being Circuit Paul Ricard instead of the Magny-Cours where the last race was held in 2008.
"I am happy and proud to have the opportunity to collaborate again with the French Grand Prix organisation," said Boullier.
"I attach particular importance to this French Grand Prix and I look forward to contributing to the success of this major motorsport event.
"I thank Christian Estrosi for his trust and I am delighted to bring him my experience and my determination."
