The #912 Porsche 911 GT3 R provisionally won 2019 Bathurst 12 Hours race but it is being investigated for causing a contact with #42 BMW of Chaz Mostert.

The 23-year old made a fantastic move at Forrest's Elbow to snatch the lead from #62 Aston Martin of Jake Dennis.

#912 Porsche was in trouble with just an hour remaining when the team made a good strategy but still ended behind GruppeM Mercedes in fourth position.

He then passed both Mercedes and BMW, with a slight contact with the #42 car of Mostert, just before the safety car period.

The Aussie then went on to battle head-to-head with Jake Dennis with only 8 laps remaining.

Meanwhile, #999 GruppeM Mercedes that was closing in on #62 Aston Martin soon had to defend his position from #888 Vodafone Mercedes of Shane van Gisbergen, who just missed the podium by a few tenths.

#62 Aston Martin ended as runner-up to #912 Porsche ahead of the other #999 and #888 Mercedes, as Shane van Gisbergen got out of his car disappointed despite giving it all.

In fifth place was Mostert in #42 BMW M6 GT3, ahead of the #108 Bentley that stopped in pitlanes as Maxime Soulet stalled the car by pressing the wrong button on steering wheel.

It's first victory for Porsche at Mount Panorama, having won at Nurburgring, Spa, Daytona, Sebring and being most successful manufacturer at Le Mans.

Grove winning won in Class B (GT3 Cup) again for second year at Bathurst in 16th place overall, ahead of the Invitational class-winning #20 MARC II Mustang. #48 M Motorsport KTM X-Bow GT4 won for Class C in 19th place ahead of BMW M4 of RHC-Jorgensen.
