
Andrea Dovizioso beat the other Ducati of Jack Miller to top the timesheets at end of the day, with less than 1 second separating top 21 riders.
Reigning champion and FP1 topper Marc Marquez was quickest for most of the session, improving from his FP1 time to 1:39.497s.
As the Spaniard came into pits, he chose to stay on same set of tyres as Cal Crutchlow and Jack Miller went quicker than him.
It was a close battle between the three to top the timesheets as Crutchlow surpassed others with less than five minutes to chequered flags. Miller was next to go quickest, setting 1:39.190s.
In the end, it was current championship leading Ducati of Dovizioso, who set 1:39.181s moments before chequered flag.
Yamaha's Maverick Vinales was third quickest, edging Crutchlow by one-thousandth of a second.
Behind the Honda of Crutchlow, Fabio Quartararo and Valentino Rossi made it 3 Yamahas up to top six.
Alex Rins was quickest of the Suzukis, ahead of Marquez, setting 1:39.451s to beat Marquez by less than five-hundredths of a second. Franco Morbidelli and Takaaki Nakagami completed top 10 with Yamaha and Honda respectively.
Andrea Iannone slotted into 11th, ahead of his teammate Aleix Espargaro while the second factory Ducati of Danilo Petrucci finished 13th.
The factory KTM duo of Pol Espargaro and Johann Zarco were 16th and 17th, while three-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo had another disappointing session, finishing 21st just ahead of Hafizh Syahrin, who was last.
