Long-time title sponsor of SRO Motorsports Group, Blancpain has ended it's deal with SRO Motorsports Group, with the brand no longer affiliated with Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup or Blancpain GT World Challenge across Europe, Asia and America.
The announcement was made by SRO Motorsports founder and CEO Stephane Ratel during Sunday's awards night ceremony in Las Vegas for Blancpain GT World Challenge America competitors.
The Swiss watchmaker formed a successful sponsorship with SRO in 2011 to create the Blancpain Endurance Series, which staged 5 rounds including 24 Hours of Spa.
The success of the endurance racing format encouraged both brands to partner for what was known then as the FIA GT Series, which is now a global championship under the Blancpain GT World Challenge banner.
A replacement for the brand is in works with no announcement formally made.
Talking about the successful partnership and investment into the sport, Blancpain Vice President Andrea Caputo said:

“We’re very proud to have worked hand-in-hand with SRO and with the excellent spirit of cooperation in the transformation of what started with a five-race European championship for gentlemen drivers to a world championship on three continents and more than 20 races per season and regularly 50 cars on the grid.
"As we all know the world is changing. After ten years of intense and positive relationship, the series has grown and is in expert hands. It’s time for us to move on.”
