Alexander Sims set an impressive lap time to clinch his second pole position of his Formula E career at Diriyah - his first after last season's final race at New York - as rivals failed to catch the British driver.

The BMW i Andretti Motorsport driver put in a 1:14.563s in Super Pole after taking 3rd in final group qualifying results.

Starting alongside him on front row is series debutant Mercedes of Stoffel Vandoorne, trailing Sims by just 0.276s of a second.

The sister Mercedes of Stoffel Vandoorne was 3rd quickest after initially being two-tenths up on Sims in first sector.

Joining De Vries on second row is Edoardo Mortara, coming from Group 3 of qualifying.

Sam Bird starts 5th on the grid after topping his group and going into Super Pole with 1 point. The Brit was the last one to go out in Super Pole session, but clipped the rear of his car into the wall and lost significant amounts of time.

Joining him alongside is Jerome D'Ambrosio for Mahindra Racing.

Porsche will start from the front of seventh row with Andre Lotterer, ahead of Oliver Rowland for Nissan edams.

No one from Group 1 made it to Super Pole due to slippery track conditions, with highest placed Group 1 qualifier Jean-Eric Vergne in 11th.

D'Ambrosio and Bird qualified from Group 2 into Super Pole, while De Vries was the only one to qualify from Group 4 reserved for rookies into Super Pole.

In Group 1 qualifying, both Da Costa and Di Grassi struggled to get in a good time.

On the back row of the grid, James Calado and Nico Mueller will start from last, after both failed to set a lap time in final group by hitting the wall at T16 and stopping next to each other.

The race will take place at 3:00 pm local time, with the race set to be streamed on YouTube in specific countries.
