
The Portuguese topped the leaderboards as the GTLM Ford GT suffered in GTLM.
The #5 Cadillac DPi-V.R of Action Express set the top time of 1:34.358 to get the fastest time on the clock than any other Cadillac driver did on Thursday.
2nd in the Prototype class was the #55 Mazda Joest driven by Olivier Pla, who set a 1:34.758, exactly fourth-tenths off the lead.
Pipo Derani put in a great lap to get the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R to third position with 1:35.087 around the clock.
Acura failed to make a place in Top 3 and settled for fourth as Simon Pagenaud set 1:35.182 in the #6 Cadillac.
The last in the Top 5 overall and DPi was the #77 Mazda DPi of Rene Rast, who was more than two-tenths behind the Acura.
Meanwhile, the FP3 topping CORE autosport DPi didn't compete in the final practice as they planned for a engine and gearbox change.
Amid the session, Action Express revealed that the regular WEC driver Mike Conway will not drive the #5 Cadillac as the British driver was still in England due to problems with his flight, missing the practice sessions, quali and race. The Brit will not return at 12 Hours of Sebring either as he is tied with Toyota for the WEC's Sebring. But the team is sure that Conway will reprise his role after Sebring.

In LMP2, the lead changed between the #81 and #18 DragonSpeed cars several times, but it was Enzo Guibbert in the #51 PR1 Mathiasen car who set a 1:36.433 to top the quartet class.
#38 of Performance Tech was last in LMP2 and slowest of all 14 (except CORE) Prototype cars.
The Le Mans spec GT class had the best time of 1:42.478 by Frederic Makowiecki in the pole-sitting #911 Porsche 911 RSR for Porsche GT Team.
Up in second place was #66 Ford GT of Dirk Mueller, who was 0.134s behind the Porsche for Ford Chip Ganassi Racing.
#3 Corvette of Jan Magnussen was in third place, the Danish setting 1:42.644 as the best time.
In the Global Spec GT3 class, known as GTD in IWSC, Pedro Lamy took the fastest lap with 1:44.632 in the #51 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GT3.
Closely following behind was Nick Cassidy as he set 1:44.846 in the Lexus RC F GT3 for AIM Vasser Sullivan, just 0.214s shy of the leading GTD Ferrari.
The #540 Black Swan Mercedes was third quickest as Marco Seefried set a laptime of 1:45.073 in the 911 GT3 R.
To complete the Top 5 for GTD were the Porsche 911 GT3 R and Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Park Place and P1 Motorsports respectively.
Last but not the least was the stoppage of #66 Ford GT that was 2nd in the session, as Sebastien Bourdais stopped at the side of track, bringing out red flags 40 minutes into the session. He complained of a problem with left rear corner as the side of the car looked messy. The clock kept ticking and the session, despite red flags stopped at 9:00 pm Pakistan Time.
The car was recovered back to the garage by recovery truck.
The teams' focus is now onto the actual race as all the grid and pit boxes are set.
24 Hours of Daytona 2019 will start on Sunday midnight at 12:35 am Pakistan Time.
