The FIA World Council meeting approved a small change to the 2020 Hypercar Regulations.
As an addition to the regulations approved on 5th December 2018, the following update has been approved.
“Expansion of the 2020 LMP Technical Regulations concept to allow a “Hypercar” developed from the road cars sold by the manufacturers to enter, while preserving the previously-approved regulatory format.
“This expansion is designed to enable additional manufacturers to enter the championship.”
The addition is understood by the technical working groups of different competitors who are developing the final regulations.
An update in detail is expected to be released during the Sebring race meeting next week.
