The Sebring International Raceway witnessed action as the teams began their private testing sessions ahead of the pre-season testing at Laguna Seca and COTA.

The Honda powered Dale Coyne Racing tested two of its cars on the Sebring short course with almost half the rest of the field to begin testing on Tuesday.
There will be in total 11 entries taking over the circuit on Tuesday, including all the 4 Honda powered Andretti Autosports, 1 Honda powered Chip Ganassi Racing, 2 Chevrolet powered Ed Carpenter Racing cars, a couple of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports' powered by Honda as well as two of two of Rahal Letterman Lanigan cars powered by Honda.
Talking to the Racer.com, Ed Carpenter stated that, “In a lot of ways, this off-season has gone by quicker than others,”
“The last time we were on track was for a test in October, and we’re happy to be in the Sunshine State to get our first test going, and then we have a little breather, and then it’s back to it at Laguna and COTA.” said Carpenter.
Ed Carpenter is both the owner as well as the driver of his team, Ed Carpenter Racing. The team will be using Honda power for the upcoming 2019 IndyCar series.
Carpenter reckoned that how it would be important to compare his team's progress with that of others.
“It will be good to see how our off-season work has been and how it compares to the others”
The current testing session spanning over two days at Sebring in Florida, will further be followed by a single day of testing on February 8th, at Laguna Seca in California. Another open testing session will then be held on February 12th and February 13th; at Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) which is situated on the outskirts of Austin, Texas.
Talking further to the Racer, Ed mentioned that, “I feel like every off-season we do a good job; I have confidence in our people and our processes, and we did a lot of things right last season, but had areas of improvement.
“Most of us hold onto our limited number of test days, and tomorrow’s always fun because we go play with our new ideas and it’s out first step to see how well we’ve done."
"One test day is not going to make or break your season, but you hope you come out and show well in that first test.” he said.
