The Dutch racing facility has taken yet another step to get closer to host a Formula 1 race in 2020. According to a news in Dutch media, Zandvoort will now get 4 million euros, in order to be able to host the Dutch Grand Prix.

"We are happy to invest in the return of formula one to the most beautiful circuit in the Netherlands," said the councillor Ellen Verheij, while giving an interview to Noordhollands Dagblad newspaper.

"We are proud to stick our neck out for Formula One and Zandvoort."

Zandvoort authorities had earlier struck a deal with the Liberty Media, in which both the parties were to negotiate the potential return of the circuit to the Formula 1 calendar.

Max Verstappen, who races under Dutch flag, has a massive fan following in both Netherlands as well as the neighboring Belgium.

As the Dutch driver plants himself more deeply in Formula 1 with each passing year, the chances of the revival of Dutch Grand Prix are also increasing.

The sum of 4 million euros is expected to be accumulated by making an increment of 50 cents a night to the tourist tax.
