Williams has confirmed that the legendary engineer, Sir Patrick Head is now returning to the team in the capacity of a Consultant.

Sir Patrick Head cofounded Williams F1 team in 1976 with Frank Williams. The British engineer headed the design department of Williams for decades, and played a pivotal role in steering the team towards glory.
In a statement given to the official F1 website, Williams said: “We can confirm that Sir Patrick Head is currently offering some support to our engineering team on a short-term consultancy basis.”
Under the watchful eyes and guidance of Patrick Head, Williams became a dominant force in Formula 1, winning as many as 7 drivers' titles and 9 constructors' titles. The team was in fact so successful, that for a decade, Williams and McLaren together won each constructors' title from 1984 to 1994.
After going through a troublesome 2018 F1 season, needless to say, Williams had a turbulent start to the 2019 campaign. The Grove based team was forced to miss the first 2 days of pre-season testing, which contributed to limited assessment mileage, as well as restricted amount of time for George Russell and Robert Kubica, to get accustomed to the FW42.
To further add to the persisting woes, Williams' Chief Technical Officer, Paddy Lowe also left the team last month. The return of the founding father of the team, will help Williams improve the car over the course of the season, as well as find a long term replacement for the departing Paddy Lowe.
