Ross Brawn has disclosed that two teams are currently blocking F1 reverse grid plans for 2020.

Although, the Sporting Director of F1 didn't mention the names of the two teams, he did say however that, “It is frustrating that we’ve not been able to do that,”
“And I think unfortunately is a classic problem of Formula 1.
Ross Brawn had flown to Paris before the Mexican Grand Prix, being optimistic that the reverse grid proposal will be met with support from all the 10 teams, but two out of the 8 teams rejected the plan.
It was earlier agreed upon that, beginning from 2020, Formula 1 will have at least 3 reverse grid sprint races a season, replacing the qualifying session on Saturday.
“The current governance system means we need unanimity to carry any decision through for next year.
“The teams initially said they would agree with it. And then two teams put their hands up at the last meeting and said they wouldn’t agree with it.” he said.
Formula 1 has met with a lot of criticism in the recent years regarding the quality of the races and lack of action and overtakes.
Many proposals have been put forward in order to increase on track action, with some of them even implemented, including the infamous DRS "Drag Reduction System" as well as the current 2019 aero regulations, which were aimed at simplifying the aerodynamics on the cars, in order to increase slipstreaming.
Brawn stated his belief that such change in the grand prix format could be good for the show.
“We wanted to try a small number of races in 2020, a different format, where it was a reverse grid format on a Saturday based on championship order and that short format race would determine the grid order for the final race.
“I thought it was a fascinating contest.”
