The Renault Sport F1 Team announced the launch date for its 2019 F1 challenger. As per the tweet on the official Renault page on Twitter, the 2019 Renault F1 car will be launched on February 12th, just a day before Racing Point will launch its F1 car and 3 days before the rivals, Ferrari will launch their F1 car for the upcoming 2019 season.
The car will be launched in the team factory situated in Enstone, England. The successor to the RS18, the car that propelled Renault to the 4th spot in the constructors' standings in 2018 is highly anticipated given some fresh gains on the Renault engine and the team planning to take on the current two giants, Mercedes and Ferrari.
Australian driver, Daniel Ricciardo will also be seen for the first time in black and yellow overalls since he parted ways with long time employer, Red Bull Racing by the end of the previous season.
There are several aerodynamics rule changes that will take effect in 2019 including simplified front and rear wings and changes to the barge boards. The aim is to increase overtaking and slipstream.
Renault's car launch happens to be just a week before the official F1 winter testing begins at the Circuit de Barcelona, Catalunya in Spain. Up until now, only 3 F1 teams have announced their 2019 car launch dates with the rest to follow.
2019 car launch dates so far:
February 12th | Renault
February 13th | Racing Point
February 15th | Ferrari
