Red Bull has announced that, the team will launch its 2019 Honda powered RB15 on February 13th; alongside both Mercedes and Racing Point revealing their respective cars on the same day.

The Red Bull RB14 during its first shakedown at Silverstone last year.

Red Bull and Honda will be forming a partnership for the first in their respective histories. Red Bull had direct access to all the data gathered from its sister team, Toro Rosso, over the course of the last season.

Toro Rosso signed a multi-year deal for a Honda engine supply after the Japanese marque fell out with McLaren. The partnership with Toro Rosso gave all the insights that the senior team required before ending ties with longtime partners, Renault, and striking a fresh deal with Honda. Just last month, Red Bull motorsport adviser, Helmut Marko claimed that his team will be getting a 'party mode' from Honda for the upcoming season.

Besides that, Red Bull will also be having a new driving lineup, as Pierre Gasly was promoted from Toro Rosso to replace outgoing Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo signed a new deal with Renault instead of renewing his contract with the Austrian team.

The official Twitter handle of Red Bull tweeted a photo with a caption that read, "We'll be revealing our 2019 challenger on the 13th February!"

A fresh partnership of Toro Rosso and Honda produced some good results, including a 4th place finish in Bahrain last year. But unreliability of the Honda power unit plagued much of the season with a plethora of retirements for both Gasly as well as Hartley.

It is believed that Honda has highly improved and achieved considerable gains with its engine, but the unreliability is still a major concern and casts shadow over its overall potential. Earlier last month, there were rumors that Honda had hit trouble again, and a rift had begun to form already between the Japanese manufacturer and Red Bull. But all such rumors were shelved aside once Red Bull denied them all.

Earlier today, Haas announced the livery reveal date of its 2019 car but refrained from disclosing the car launch date. Williams is also yet to communicate the car launch date ahead of the 1st pre-season test in Barcelona on February 18th.
