Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly has replaced the seat for Daniel's drive for Red Bull since he announced his switch for Renault. While it seems like a good jump for the Frenchman to be part of the 3rd best team, he is not kidding around being a support driver for Red Bull.
Pierre has made a good drive for himself considering his highest position was 4th at Bahrain GP last year. So it was already a likely choice for the Red Bull team to choose him if one of their drivers leave the team.

However Pierre has mentioned that he is super excited to drive for the team, but he is also expecting to get all the role he would as a no.1 driver like Max.
"For sure I'm going to be next to one of the best drivers on the grid at the moment and for me it's a great challenge"
"So I will take the time I need to be competitive, but I'm not going to be there to be second driver, that's not what I want and not going to be satisfied with that." he was quoted as saying by Motorsport.com.
Pierre's only full season was the 2018 season considering he joined F1 in late 2017. His experience hasn't accumulated enough where he can drive the 3rd best car on the grid.
"But at the end of the day it was only my full first season in Formula 1 [in '18] and for sure I'm going to get better and better, season after season because experience plays quite a big part.
"So I know that I didn't reach my full potential, but that's my only motivation and I'm fully dedicated to do everything I can to reach my best level as soon as possible." said Gasly.

Pierre also mentioned that he is excited about the fact that he will now drive for a totally different team relative to the Italian team from where he has made his debut. Just like how Sebastian won his first race for Toro Rosso, Pierre scored the highest position for the Italian team for quite some time.
"Coming from Toro Rosso to Red Bull is, as I say, different targets, different culture also, more English culture in Red Bull."
But it won't be an easy journey to say the least. Having two young gunners in Red Bull's fleet could either mean prosperity or absolute disaster. Following Max's racing strategy, his bold driving could be quite a mouthful for Pierre, but if he can somehow swallow it up, the team and the Frenchman are expecting one big roller coaster of a ride.
