The track temperature in FP2 was over 30° C and the air temperature at 10 AM in the morning was 14° C. The weather remained the same with mostly sunny and clear.

The session started at 9 PM (Pakistan Standard Time). There wasn’t much happening in FP2 compared to FP1 where there was an FCY. Sam Bird was the first driver to lock his tyres at turn 1 when he was going for his first flying lap. The German driver, Andre Lotterer was the first person to set the fastest lap. F1 legend, Felipe Massa, also locked his tyres going in turn 1. The track at turn 10,11 and 12 is really bumpy compared to the smooth tarmac spread around the track.

Andre Lotterer was the first driver to break into the one-minute barrier around this 2 KM track in Mexico. He set a lap time of 59.923. British driver, Oliver Turvey, drove his car into the barrier at turn 12 and broke his right-front suspension. He retired for the rest of session and was in pits. 15 minutes were remaining and drivers started to use their full power to set fast lap times.
Da Costa improved of his time to a 58.963 at the end of the session. He remained of top of it. Felipe Massa set a second fastest lap time of 59.138 and Sebastian Buemi in third with 59.248.
