McLaren on Thursday, announced the date for the launch of its 2019 MCL34. As per the revelation, the team will pull off the covers from its 2019 car on February 14th, coinciding with the Valentine's day.
In a romanticized tweet on social media platform Twitter, the team's official handle posted a cover that featured two helmets within the shape of a heart. The tweet read "Some cars are red, Others are blue. On Valentine’s Day, We’ll reveal ours to you."
McLaren happens to be the 4th team to have announced its car launch date after Ferrari announced its date followed by Racing Point revealing its date and then Renault also following in the lead.
McLaren is anticipated to bounce back from a miserable campaign in 2018 in which the MCL33 ended up being the second slowest car on the grid with way many aerodynamics issues. Much of the retirements in fact, were a result of either engine related cooling issues or the gearbox failures. Although, it is reckoned by many experts that these woes were in part due to the fact that McLaren made a last minute switch from Honda to Renault in 2017 and that the chassis was not actually designed for the Renault power unit.
McLaren is expected to up its game for the forthcoming season and finish on a better note this year. Team's star driver, Fernando Alonso also left Formula 1 altogether at the end of 2018 after going through 4 seasons of absolute failures and little to no improvements at all. His Spanish countryman, Carlos Sainz Jr. will be joining in from Renault and fill his vacated seat at McLaren. Sainz is being partnered by the young British talent and 2018 Formula 2 driver, Lando Norris; hence making it a completely new line-up.

There are several aerodynamics rule changes that will take effect in 2019 including simplified front and rear wings and changes to the barge boards. The aim is to increase overtaking and slipstream.
McLaren's car launch happens to be just 4 days before the official F1 winter testing begins at the Circuit de Barcelona, Catalunya in Spain. Up until now, only 4 F1 teams have announced their 2019 car launch dates with the rest to follow.
2019 car launch dates so far:
February 12th | Renault
February 13th | Racing Point
February 14th | McLaren
February 15th | Ferrari
