Mick Schumacher finished the last race in 8th, so today he was starting on pole alongside Aitkin. Lights out and Mick Schumacher gets an amazing start, he moves to the left to cover Aitkin. Mick Schumacher defends his position going into the first corner. Deletraz moves into the third behind Mick and Aitkin. As Aitkin, Deletraz and De Vries are going into the 2nd sector of the track, Deletraz goes over the AstroTurf, and Aitkin and De Vries collide with each other, all the three drivers are off the track but rejoin the track before turn 8, there is chaos at the first corner. Latifi moves into 2nd and so do Sette in 3rd. Ghiotto fights Hubert at turn 11, almost gets the job done but Hubert fights back and gets the position back before turn 13.

Going into lap no.4 Mick Schumacher is overtaken by Sette and Ghiotto at turn 12. He doesn’t defend his position because he doesn’t want to pit. Remember, the pitstop isn’t necessary for this race. Race 1 winner, Nicholas Latifi is behind Schumacher. Both are battling for 3rd position. Latifi overtakes Schumacher going into the first corner around the outside. Latifi is in 3rd now.
