McLaren's Lando Norris comes in for a pitstop

The first day of Winter Test 2 ended with some rather peculiar results, read below to find out.

F1 Winter Testing 2 has officially begun, with the setups of the cars presumably finalized in Test 1 teams will now focus to get the most out of the cars in terms of reliability and performance.

Lando Norris was the first to venture out on the Catalan tarmac this morning for McLaren and quickly showed that he meant business as he set the fastest time of the session at the end of the day.

Red Bull's Pierre Gasly was also busy setting up most laps for the day at 136 and pushing the new Honda power unit in the back of his car.

Canuck Lance Stroll was another pleasant surprise this morning, as he put his seemingly formidable Pink Panther to third place at the end of the day.

Alfa Romeo, still somehow surprised that their front wing worked, was fastest for quite some while with Antonio Giovinazzi, until taken over by Lando's McLaren and finished the day with 5th place on the timing sheets.

Sebastian Vettel stretched his legs for Ferrari as he set a blistering lap-time of 1:17.925. His teammate Charles Leclerc had to make do with a 1:18.651 with just 36 laps.

Renault had a few hiccups with their reliability this morning, but it seems as if they fixed it quick enough, with Nico Hulkenberg describing the reliability as "ok, but not awesome". Mercedes also had a busy day as Valtteri Bottas' W10 motor blew up just after the lunch break.

Last but certainly not least, Williams came back much stronger than last week with a blistering 9th place at the timing sheets and their funky suspension to end the day.
