The OTT service will air all the 21 races with pre-season testing and documentaries.
F1 Media Press released on Wednesday some of it's plans for it's Over-The-Top (OTT) Service F1 TV Pro in 2019.
The service started in 2018, just a year after Liberty Media took over the commercial rights for the sport. The service was available in 59 countries in 2018 and will expand more in 2019.
From 18-21 February, F1 TV Pro subscribers will be able to stream 8 hours per day of the pre-season testing. It will be followed by Review Show covering the details from the session.
The coverage will return from 26th February to 1st of March followed by the Review show.
The decision comes days after Sky Sports F1 announced it's plan for 2019 Pre-Season Testing.
With Sky Sports F1 charging £150 per season compared to hardly £70 of F1 TV Pro (approximate price of F1 TV Pro in US), the OTT service took the right step to rival the exclusive TV rights holder in UK. Liberty Media also hinted last year about expanding the coverage including UK, surely affecting Sky Sports F1.
“Following the beta launch of F1 TV last year, our goal is to continue to enhance the product to include more markets, content and platforms,” said Frank Arthofer, Director of Digital, Licensing and New Business at Formula 1.
“Our ambition is to provide fans with a terrific product that allows them to personalise their viewing experience and deepen the insight available to them about the sport they love. By broadcasting testing for the first time, we are ensuring F1 TV Pro subscribers are rewarded with all the latest action from pre-season," he added.
Another announcement is of the special documentary of the 7-Times World Champion Michael Schumacher, named "Michael Schumacher: The Making of a Legend" on his 50th birthday, exclusively available to F1 TV subscribers on the F1 TV Access.
