Former Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari and current CEO of Lamborghini Automobile Stefano Domenicali might return to Ferrari in 2019 for a significant role, reported by the Italian media Corriero dello Sport reported.

The Italian Team Principal left after 2014, after an unsatisfactory performance, with Ferrari finishing 2nd in the driver's and constructor's several times between 2008 and 2014.

But various Italian sources hinted at the possible return of Stefano Domenicali, a week after Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene was replaced with Mattia Binotto.

As Corriere dello Sport wrote, "Who now renegotiates with Liberty Media the Concordia Agreement, which regulates the division of the proceeds of Formula 1 and expires at the end of 2020? Binotto? Admitted and not granted that it has competence, it will have other things to do."

Domenicali is currently the CEO and President of Lamborghini Automobile, boosting the company's sales by a record 51%.

The Italian media also mentioned that Stefano Domenicali may replace the current CEO of Ferrari, Louis Camilleri, as the Chairman John Elkann is working for it as soon as possible.

John Elkann and Louis Camilleri were appointed last year, in the wake of unexpected demise of the Late Ferrari Chairman Sergio Marchionne last year.
