The Sporting Director of Formula 1, Ross Brawn has termed Lewis Hamilton as "an amazing driver" and believes that the 5 time world champion is rewriting the F1 history.

Mercedes sealed the constructor's crown for the 6th time in a row at this year's Japanese Grand Prix. While Valtteri Bottas took the honors of winning the race for the team, Lewis Hamilton finished 3rd, which was a position high enough to guarantee Mercedes the 2019 F1 constructors' world championship.

Mercedes has so far managed to win 12 races this season with an incredible pile of eight 1-2 finishes. A big portion of this dominance and success has been fetched by Lewis Hamilton, who has won as many as 9 races this year.

Ross Brawn stated that, “Much of this success is down to Lewis Hamilton, an amazing driver who is rewriting the history of this sport in a manner all his own,”

“It’s always difficult to establish how much is down to the car and how much to the driver, but in the end, for me, it’s the team that counts the most.

“Formula 1 is a team sport and even if the driver is the star of the show he cannot win without a team behind him.

“Mercedes has reached a higher level than its rivals and so far has been almost untouchable.” said Brawn.

While singing praises of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, Brawn signaled that nothing lasts forever, and that the current domination being enjoyed by the Silver Arrows, will come to an end one day.

“However, without wishing to be the bearer of bad tidings, sooner or later the wind changes,”

“It’s the law of the jungle in every sport."

“But no matter what may come, the achievements of the men and women of Brackley, Brixworth and Stuttgart will always be in the history books.” he concluded.

While Mercedes has already clinched a record equaling 6th world title at Suzuka, either of its drivers, Hamilton and Bottas are yet to win the drivers' title. What certain however is, that Mercedes will inevitably be securing a record breaking 6th double in the upcoming races.

With the likes of Charles Leclerc, Max Verstapppen and Sebastian Vettel, all three already out of the title contention, the title fight is now only between the Mercedes duo. As per the current title permutations, if Lewis Hamilton wins at the upcoming race in Mexico, Valtteri Bottas must finish 3rd or higher in order to keep his championship hopes alive.
