As the Japanese car giant and Formula 1 engine supplier Honda prepares to team up with championship winning team Red Bull, a German source reported about the two possible hitches in the Japanese brand's 2019 Power Unit development.
The German car blog Autobild reported that the consultancy AVL and the Honda engineers had a disagreement, that slowed down the progress for 2019.
Red Bull Racing Executive Dr. Helmut Marko confirmed the issue, which is a nightmare for the team as the Japanese marque failed to deliver any adequate performance with McLaren and split after the partnership didn't go as expected, before joining Toro Rosso.
Autobild also reported that the Honda power units can't run at full speeds due to the strong and unusual vibrations that disturb the ICE (Internal Combustion Unit).

The team hired Former Mercedes Engine boss Mario Illien, who is determined to solve the problem before the next session, as another problem yet to be found, Autobild reported.
As the team's contract with F1 expires post-2020, Helmut Marko thinks the new car will be capable of winning the races and potentially a championship, with Max Verstappen teaming up with his new teammate Pierre Gasly.
On the other side, Honda are happy of the friendly environment in the junior team Toro Rosso and confident about a peaceful workplace in the wake of Red Bull Racing-Renault divorce.
